Topsoil is scarce on the High Plains, so we save it when we can and haul only what has to go. Road base, sand and fill come in for drives, pipe beds and pads.
Basement digs and trenches in Cheyenne leave piles of sand, gravel, clay and caliche. Clean sand and gravel can often be reused as backfill or fill on the same property, which saves hauling. What cannot stay is loaded and hauled to permitted fill sites, landfills or other jobs that need it. Old concrete and asphalt can often be recycled instead of buried.
We also bring material in: fill dirt to raise low areas, screened topsoil for lawns and gardens, sand for pipe bedding and road base for drives and pads. Topsoil is scarce on the High Plains, so the soil we strip at the start of a job is saved and spread back at the end whenever possible. Fill under a slab or a building is clean material that compacts well.
Heavy trucks need firm ground, and in spring the ground can be soft after the thaw. We plan the truck route and staging area before hauling starts, protect driveways and curbs, and avoid crossing lawns or septic fields with loaded trucks. On windy days we keep loads covered so dust stays out of the neighborhood. Streets are swept when mud leaves the site.
Hauling & fill dirt in Cheyenne: common questions
Can you deliver road base for a driveway?
Yes. We bring in road base and crushed gravel and can spread and compact it.
Do you reuse dirt from my site?
When it is clean and the plan needs fill, yes. Mixed or organic soil is hauled away.
Can trucks drive over my septic field?
No. Heavy trucks can crush pipes and pack the soil, so we keep them off septic tanks and drain fields.
